And the fun begins...
Christmas morning we awoke to a winter wonderland. Noah was so excited to get out and play so on Saturday we bundled the kids up and took them out. It was a blast. Peter and Noah made a little hill for the sled, threw snow balls, and ate lots of snow....but not the yellow snow :) When Emme awoke from her nap we took the kids on a little sled ride up and down the sidewalk. Noah was fearless. Peter whipped him around and he would go flying. It is so much fun to be a kids again. Enjoy the pictures....
Miss Emme all bundled up. She was such a trooper even though she could barely move.

Silly Noah
This morning Noah was a little jealous that Emme had a bow in her hair. He wanted one too, so I put this pretty pink bow in his hair. Noah has worn it all day and doesn't want to take it out. Hopefully I can convince him to take it out later when we meet up with family for Christmas. He does make a cute little girl though :)
Merry Christmas!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....Well it is definitely a white Christmas this year. We are knee high in snow so far and more to come. It is beautiful outside. The kids and I are cuddled up inside today while Peter braved the weather and headed off to work. We are hoping to make it to my grandparents this evening if we are not snowed in.
On Monday night we celebrated our family of four's Christmas and opened our gifts. Peter and I are never good at waiting. I made a nice warm dinner of seasoned pork chops, cheesy mashed potatoes and vegetables. We played Christmas music and enjoyed watching the kids open gifts. This year was Emme's first Christmas. She received a lullaby glow worm from santa and a new book. Noah was so excited to get a new tent, doctor kit, and the Elefun game (elephant that blows out little butterflies). That's about it for our little family. Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas. God Bless.

Emme is getting way to big. She is growing up on me. I wish I could just press pause and keep my kiddos at this age. As you can see, Emme loves to suck on her upper lip.
My two little peanuts :) Noah still loves his little sister.
Here is a few more pictures taken by Beth. The rest are on my Christmas card so I cant post them yet. I love this last picture of Noah. It was at the end of the photo shoot and he was all pictured out. I even tried bribing him with more cookies but it didn't work.

Delicious Snicker Cookies
This year I thought I would try a new Christmas cookie. These cookies were delicious and soo tasty. Peter loves snickers so I knew this would be a hit. Here is there recipe. Enjoy!
Snicker Cookies
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c butter, room temp.
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
30 mini sized snickers candy bars (about 1 bag)
In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter and peanut butter. Add vanilla and egg. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and add to peanut butter mixture. Shape dough smoothly around each candy bar, making sure the bar is completely covered, without having a lot of excess dough. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350, check at 12 minutes, and take out when they are slightly golden. Cool a minute or so and remove from cookie sheets. Delicious served warmed!!

We had a great time visiting Peter's family. The kids love to be around them and they have so many fun toys. Here is Noah in the tent Papa Horn found and a little kitchen. He was making us coffee and eggs :)
Emme and uncle Matt's dog, Orsen. He was a very kind and gentle dog. The kids loved him.
Emme on thanksgiving morning. She wasn't feeling well, so her and I stayed home from the thanksgiving hike :(

A Great Morning!
This morning was a very nice and relaxing morning. It is a rainy day so Noah, Emme and I decided to run some errands. We went to Barnes & Noble, the pet store to see the kittens (Noah's favorite), Michaels to get craft supplies and then out for lunch. We ate at a little soup spot and had warm chicken pot pie soup, bread sticks and grilled cheese. It was so nice to have some quality time with my kids. Noah and I talked the whole lunch time while Emme took a little nap. It as nice to know that I can take Noah and Emme out for lunch on my own. Each day gets easier and easier having 2 kids so close in age. They are growing up way to fast. I am very thankful for my family.

Excuse This House
Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there-
Ours boasts of it quite openly the signs are everywhere-
For smears on the windows, little smudges on the door;
I should apologize I guess for toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with children and we played and laughed and read;
And if the doorbell doesn't shine, their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose the one job or the other;
I want to be a housewife-
But first I'll be a mother.

My Big Girl :)
Noah at lunch today
Emme trying her first spoonful of rice cereal..mmm mmm good :)
Emme is now 5 months and growing bigger and bigger everyday. I am reminded by her that she isnt soo little anymore. Last night we decided that it was best to move her out of our room. She was getting up frequently to nurse and cuddle with Mommy. We needed to get her back to sleeping the night in her own bed. We borrowed a monitor from a friend and moved her downstairs to her own room and crib. The night went a lot better than expected. She woke up 2 hours after she went to bed so I fed her and put her back in her crib. She then woke up around 12 and Pete went down and rocked her for a bit and put her back in her crib. At around 2/3 am I heard her cry off and on but neither one of us went down. She fell back to sleep and slept until 5:30 am. She made it from 10 to 5:30 without eating or sleeping in our bed. I am really proud of her. Hopefully she will do even better tonight.
We also tried some rice cereal with her today. I was going to wait until 6 months but she has shown a lot of interest in trying some solids sooner. We mixed up a little cereal and she went to town. She loved it.

MEXICO!
Family bath in the huge jacuzzi tub in our room. It was the kids favorite thing about the hotel :)
The view from our room! It was beautiful.
Peter and Noah loved swimming together. Noah is such a little fish.
On this day Noah was very tired and crabby so we decided to bury him in the sand to keep him put :)

Emme soaking up the sun :)
We are back from Mexico and getting adjusted to schedules again. Noah and Emme did great on the trip and we all had a blast. Most of our days consisted of swimming, short walks, drinking fun slushy drinks, poolside service and snacks, mini golf, and a lot of food. The resort was very family friendly and had a lot to do. Peter and his friend Ben went sailing one day off the shore and saw a sea turtle. We also saw huge lizards and even a small alligator. The wedding was beautiful and a lot of fun. Noah loved to dance with Tonia, the bride, and when she was too busy he would move on to the bridesmaids. He is such a ladies man :) The plane ride was another story.... Noah had motion sickness on the descending part and threw up all over peter, Emme went through 4 outfits on the way home because she had huge blow outs, and our dvd player ran out of power right before the plane took off since we were delayed an hour waiting for our pilot to show up. All in all it was a good trip and we are blessed we could afford to take our family there. Congrats Matt and Tonia! Thanks for having your wedding in Mexico.
