First Day of Preschool!

 

Last week both Emme and Noah started preschool! They love their teachers and new friends. This is Emme's first year in preschool and she has teacher Anna, which was Noah's teacher last year. Noah has teacher Mary and a lot of the same kids in his class as last  year. It has been fun listening to their stories about school and listen to them sing new songs at home. Emme especially is so excited to do crafts, paint, and be a big girl. She was pretty proud that she went potty at school all by herself. So sweet :) I cant believe how big they are getting and to think that Noah will be in Kindergarten next year.

My wonderful sister-in-law-to-be took this incredible picture. I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. Things have been going well here at the Horn household. We are adjusting well to having Mary here. Couldn't imagine my life without her. She is now almost 7 weeks old and doing great. The colic in the evenings is getting better and she is sleeping longer stretches. She smiles and coos. It is so sweet to hear her. For the most part she is a content baby. She almost has to be since she is always being touched, poked, and held by her siblings. Mary almost never gets a quiet nap. We are soo in love!

Finally Some Pics!

Thanks for being patient with me :) I am not too good at this blog thing but here are some pics of our precious new addition in return. Our transition so far has been going well. Emme is a little mommy and Noah is very tender with Mary. He is a great helper and mommy's little buddy. I am so thankful for the gift of these three kids. Cant imagine my life without them.

I am here again! However, I don't have much to say today. I find myself praying for patience today or should I say most days. It is one of the many things the Lord has been working on in me. I have grown a lot in this area especially since first having children. Poor Noah has been my practice child :) But I do think he is turning out pretty well. He has such a tender heart especially for his sister, who tends to test my patience the most.

Growing up, I always picture myself as a mom. I couldn't wait to become a mother. I saw myself like Maria from the Sound of Music...Fun, loving, tender, kind, patient. However, when I had Noah, reality hit me and my patience was truly tested. The one thing that helps me the most is prayer and scripture. I cling to it like its my only hope...which it is. God can change me, He can shine light on the things that matter, and God can walk with me throughout my crazy days. Here are a few scripture I have memorized and hold close to my heart:

James 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.

1 Peter 5:7-8 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Today has been a trying day but I look at my beautiful children and I am reminded of God's blessings and faithfulness. They are my joy and I am so privileged that God trusted them to me. I need to lean on Him more and not myself. Thanks for reading :)

Life

Well, here we go blog world! Are any of you readers still out there? Its been a very very long time since I have posted. I have no excuse except I have been enjoying life with my little ones. This year has blown by. As many of you know, we are expecting our 3rd child late July. God has blessed us with another little girl :) and we couldn't be more excited. We have been busy preparing for the new addition and getting the house ready. Peter has made a list of projects to be done, room by room. I, however, am just trying to survive this pregnancy. It has been the toughest of my pregnancies and look forward to meeting my little girl this summer.

My plan for this blog is, hopefully, to post 1-2 times a week. I have so much to share. God had really been working in my life. He has definitely let his light shine down on me and has changed my life forever. There are seasons in our walk with Christ. Sometimes it rains and he pours down on us and other times we go through a dry season, where we might not hear Him so clearly. Stay faithful and wait patiently for the rain. Right now, in my life, he is pouring down His love on me. God is slowly changing me, shaping me, and challenging me to be more like Him. How wonderful :)

James 5: 7-8

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

Emme's New Room

We are getting closer to finishing Emme's room. We are sill in need of window treatments (since the previous owner took these ones). And we still need to hang a few more pictures. Here is what her room looks like so far. We painted it the same pink she had at our old house...its slightly different. A little lighter and softer. You cant tell from the pictures :)

We are finally in our new home and busy working to make it ours. Pete has been busy painting while the kids and I have had fun decorating and shopping :) Here is our master bedroom so far. Its still a work in progress. We love our new home! (Its funny....we had similar furniture...I think its the same brand)

Last night we went to the Mall of America for a special CARs event! It was a blast and it was so fun seeing Noah's excitement. He was in Cars heaven. Emme enjoyed herself too. Enjoy the pics.

and more packing.... we are finally moved out of our house and into my parents house. Still haven't found anything yet. Praying that the spring market brings a new batch of houses. But in the mean time, the kids have really enjoyed living with papa and grandma. And I am enjoying the extra hands/help.

Never Grow Up

Noah's 1st Christmas (2007). He was 3 months old. Such a little peanut. Its hard to think of him ever being this little.


Christmas 2008. Noah was a little over a year old and I was 3 months pregnant with Little Miss Emme. He didn't know what was going to happen to him in the next year. What a surprise!...He got a sister :)

Whats new with us?

We finally sold our house! We are now moving in with my parents until we find our forever house.
