Ingredients:
3/4 c butter
1 c brown sugar
2 tbsp corn syrup
1 (9 inch) loaf Hawaiian Bread
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half&half
1 tsp vanilla extract
In medium sauce pan over low heat, melt first 3 ingredients (through corn syrup) stirring until smooth. Pour into 9x13 inch baking pan.
Cut six 1 inch thick slices from the middle of the bread. Arrange slices one layer thick on bottom of pan.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, half&half and vanilla, stirring with whisk. Pour over bread, cover pan and chill overnight.
Warm to room temp and bake at 350 degrees until bread puffs and edges are golden brown, about 35-40 minutes.
